The church holds the following statement of faith to be a summary of the doctrine that is believed and practiced and aligns itself with the word of God for its authority.
1. The
Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible as found in the Authorized Version
consisting of Old and New Testaments is the pure word of God. We
believe that the scriptures were inspired by God and written by holy
men. We believe that God supernaturally preserved the scriptures in
the English language as found in the King James Bible and that it is
without error. We believe that it is the final authority in all
matters of faith and practice. II Tim. 3:15-16; II Pet. 1:21; Ps.
12:6-7; I Thes. 2:13.
2. The
True God
We believe that the true God is revealed in scriptures. We
believe that He is a Spirit. We believe that He is the Creator and
sustainer of life and that there are no other gods before Him or
like unto Him. We believe that He is a triune Godhead consisting of
the Eternal Father, Son and Holy Ghost. We believe that they are
equal in all authority and essence, yet exercised different offices.
No one part of the Godhead is before the other. Mt. 28:19; I John
5:7; I Pet. 1:2; Isa. 43:10; I John 5:20.
3. The
Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that the Savior Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of
God and that He was from everlasting and will be through eternity.
We believe that before the foundation of the world He was ordained
to be the Redeemer of mankind. We believe that He took on a human
body through a virgin birth and became the Son of man. We believe
that He was and is without sin. We believe that He was the true God
in the flesh. I Tim. 3:16; Matt. 1:23; Micah 5:2; Isa. 9:6.
4. The
Holy Spirit
We believe that He is the Comforter and Spirit of the living
God. We believe that He also is co-equal with the Father and the
Son. We believe that He is the One that seals the believer. We
believer that He is received at the moment a person receives Jesus
Christ as their personal Savior. We believe that He is the anointing
that teaches us all things. We believe that in the days of the
Apostles He was the One who gave the sign gifts as a temporary
measure for the early days of the church. We do not accept the
modern charismatic movement to be an outpouring of the Holy Ghost
with its supposed gifts of healing and tongues. Eph. 1:13; John
14:26; I John 2:27; Rom. 8:9.
5.
Man
We believe that man is a creation of Almighty God and the first
man Adam was created in God’s image but fell when he disobeyed. We
believe that all that are born into this world are because of their
federal head (Adam) born as children of wrath. We believe man is
sinful and needs to be saved; there are no exceptions. Gen. 1:26;
Gen. 2:7; Rom. 5:12-18; Eph. 2:1-3.
6.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is God’s work for mankind in the
person of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ made a
full atonement for the sins of the world when He shed His blood as a
sacrifice for our sins. We believe that He died according to the
scriptures and that he was buried and that He rose again the third
day. We believe that He appeared to many and that He ascended up
bodily into heaven. We believe that He is the believer’s advocate
seated at the right hand of God the Father. That death has no more
dominion over Him and He is alive forever more. I Cor. 15:1-5; I
John 2:1-3; Rom. 5:11; Heb. 12:2; I Tim. 2:5.
7.
Eternal Security
We believe that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord. We believe that God will present us before the
throne of His glory faultless through the merits of Jesus Christ. We
believe that we did not do anything to get saved (other than accept
the free gift of God by a penitent and obedient faith) and therefore
we do not need to do anything to stay saved. We are eternally secure
in Christ. We are part of His body. Rom. 6:23; Eph. 5:27-30; Eph.
4:30; Jude 1:24; II Tim. 1:12; Rom. 8:35-39.
8.
Justification
We believe that man is justified without the deeds of the law.
We believe that faith is the means of justification. Justification
includes a full pardon and the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ
to the believer’s account. We believe that we have peace with God
and that Jesus Christ has secured it for us. Rom. 8:33; Rom. 5:1; I
Cor. 6:11; Gal. 2:16.
9.
Sanctification
We believe that God will perfect that which He has redeemed. We
believe that sanctification is a progressive work and that the
believer will be brought into the likeness of Jesus Christ by the
sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the believer
by the continued use of the Holy Bible and self-judgment and prayer
will grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. I Cor.
1:30; John 17:17; Eph. 5:26-27; I Cor. 11:31; Jude 1:20.
10.
Separation – Personal and Ecclesiastical
We believe that the Christian should keep himself unspotted from
this world and abstain from all appearance of evil. We believe that
he should work out his salvation with fear and trembling so as to
show the world that Jesus Christ is alive in his heart. We believe
that the church should be also without blemish and should shun all
forms of apostasy, modernism, ecumenism, and other movements that
deviate from sound doctrine. We believe that he should carry on the
work of the Lord without compromise. Jam. 1:27; II Tim. 4:1-3; II
Cor. 6:14-18; I Thess. 5:22; Titus 1:9-11; Titus 2:10-15.
11.
The Return of the Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that He will return in the clouds to gather His believers
to Himself and this will precede the great tribulation period. We
believe His return is imminent and personal and is given to us as a
blessed hope. Titus 2:11-13; I Thess. 4:16-18; Phil. 3:20.
12.
Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ
We believe that the kingdoms of this world will become the
kingdoms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe that He
will sit upon the throne of His father David in Jerusalem and will
have an autocratic monarchy. We believe that He will reign for 1000
years and He will set up His kingdom after the great tribulation
period spoken of in Revelation and Daniel and Matthew. Rev. 11:15;
Rev. 20:2-6; Dan. 12:1; Dan. 9:24-27.
13.
Dispensations
We believe that the Holy Bible should be studied from a
dispensational view. II Tim. 2:15.
14. The
Local Church
We believe that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of
baptized believers associated by covenant in the faith and the
fellowship of the gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ,
governed by the law of Christ, and exercising the gifts, rights, and
privileges invested in them by His word; that its only scriptural
officers are bishops or pastors and deacons, whose qualifications,
claims, and duties are defined in the epistles to Timothy and Titus.
This church is an independent local autonomy, governed internally
and responsible only to the Lord Jesus Christ. Its ministries are
designed to glorify God, edify the saint and evangelize the world to
the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 20:28; Eph. 5:23;
Acts 14:23; Matt. 28:19-20; Rom. 16:5; I Thess. 1:1.
15.
Giving
We believe that the local church should be supported by its
members and that free will support is the means which finances this
church. We believe that a Christian relinquishes all rights to
direct the use of tithe and offerings and gifts once the gift has
been made. II Cor. 9:6-7; Phil. 4:15-19; I Cor. 16:2; Gal. 6:6.
16.
Civil Government
We believe the powers that be are ordained of God to be an
authority of rule and order in society and that we ought to be
subject unto them, to pray for those in authority and follow their
laws except where they are contrary to the will of God and violate
scriptures and the consciences bound to them. Acts 5:28-29; Ex.
1:17; Rom. 13:1-7; Luke 20:25.
17. The
Righteous and the Wicked
We believe that there is a difference between evil and good. We
believe that God will one day separate the lost from the saved. We
believe that the grace of God can change the lost, ungodly, wicked
into that which is holy and righteous. We believe that in eternity
hell, which was prepared for devil and his angels, will also contain
those who in unbelief and in an unrepentant state died in their
sins. We believe that hell is a lake of fire. We believe that those
who in faith have died in Christ will have eternity in the place
prepared for them by the Savior – heaven.
18.
Satan
We believe that there is a real personality of the Devil. We
believe that he is the adversary to the Christian. We believe that
he is the enemy of God and will one day be forever destroyed in a
lake of fire. Job 1:6-7; Rev. 20:10; Isa. 14:12-17.
